  LASTMA inducts media mayors to improve traffic 25th September 2025 The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has inducted no fewer than 12 media practitioners drawn from the print, broadcast, and digital media as traffic mayors in its efforts to improve vehicular movement across the state. The induction was held at the agency’s headquarters in Oshodi, Lagos State, on Wednesday. Speaking at the induction, the LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, noted that the Media Traffic Mayor idea was an initiative designed to fortify and complement the efforts of LASTMA officers, ensuring traffic order, safety, and mobility across the state. According to him, the cosmopolitan nature of the state and its small land size had made traffic management a Herculean task.   Police reject N4m bribe from Bayelsa murder suspect Operatives of Operation Puff Adder of the Bayelsa State Police Command and Nigerian Immigration Office, Festac Town, Lagos, have rejected a bribe of N4.0m from George Idumangi, who has been arrested for the murder of Richard Ekpebu, a Bayelsa estate agent. On Wednesday, Idumangi allegedly offered the N4.0m bribe to immigration officers so they would not hand him over to the police, and later offered the police N3.0 million to delete a certain file from his phone. It was gathered that Idumangi was arrested on Monday by men of the NIS in Lagos when he went to collect his procured passport. His arrest was due to inter-agency collaboration between the NIS and the Nigeria Police Force, particularly the Operation Puff Adder and the Area E Police Command in Lagos.
