 Before becoming Pope Francis, Jorge Mario Bergoglio studied chemistry and earned a diploma as a chemical technician, immersing himself in the world of science. He worked various jobs to support himself, including as a janitor and even a nightclub bouncer. These early experiences shaped his humility, strengthened his work ethic, and deepened his understanding of the everyday struggles people face. His transition from scientific studies and secular work to the priesthood eventually led him to become one of the most beloved and influential religious figures in history.

  Police reject N4m bribe from Bayelsa murder suspect Operatives of Operation Puff Adder of the Bayelsa State Police Command and Nigerian Immigration Office, Festac Town, Lagos, have rejected a bribe of N4.0m from George Idumangi, who has been arrested for the murder of Richard Ekpebu, a Bayelsa estate agent. On Wednesday, Idumangi allegedly offered the N4.0m bribe to immigration officers so they would not hand him over to the police, and later offered the police N3.0 million to delete a certain file from his phone. It was gathered that Idumangi was arrested on Monday by men of the NIS in Lagos when he went to collect his procured passport. His arrest was due to inter-agency collaboration between the NIS and the Nigeria Police Force, particularly the Operation Puff Adder and the Area E Police Command in Lagos.
